Leeds
Castle, which is set in 500 acres of parkland with wonderful gardens,
was first built in AD 857 on two islands surround by a
lake. In 1119 the Normans rebuilt the castle.
Surrounded by
a large watered moat, which now a days is rare, as many moats are now
grassed over.
Today, the well kept grounds can be seen along with magnificent
views of the Castle.
Along with touring the medieval castle
and gardens there are; aviaries, a maze, duckier, vineyard,
museum
of dog collars, collection of furnishings, tapestries and
paintings.

Take your time and
wonder the grounds and castle at your leisure. There is a train which
helps to conserve energy, transporting you to each attraction.
This is a
wonderful way to see the English countryside, as well as a castle, if
you have time we can stop at a local pub for lunch.
