Windsor
castle has been a royal palace for over 900 years, this being
one of the Queens favourite palaces. She often stays here for
pleasure as well
as giving many state banquets in her role as Head Of State.
When visiting
the castle you will be able to wonder around the State
Apartments, and view the works of Rubens, Holbein, sculptures, tapestries and armour.
Along with
visiting the castle you can take in St George's Chapel where the
late Queen mother is resting, and is also the setting for many
Royal Weddings the last being Duke & Duchess of Wessex.
A visit here will
take a good 2-3 hours and then you could take in a pub lunch
along the river Thames.
