A former butler to an aristocrat, William
Claridge, purchased a Hotel in the 1850's on what is the present day site of
Claridge's.
Today's red brick hotel was built in 1899 and
extended in the 1930's.
Although Claridges does not need any recommendation
from me. If money was no object this is the hotel I would prefer to stay at.
It always has a busy feel to it, but the staff
are friendly, efficient and more importantly, they are there when you need
them.
A great way to experience Claridges for those
without unlimited funds (or with) is to take one of their very popular cream
teas.
There are 190 rooms of which, 53 are suites.
