Built in 1889 on land given to the Count of Savoy
by Richard III. It was one of the first hotels to have electric lighting and
lifts installed. The street used to access the Savoy (Savoy Court) is the only
street in England on which one would drive in the right.
The Post Office once had a letter addressed to
the "Best Hotel in London", so they forwarded it to the Savoy.
The Grill Room, still maintains its position as
one of London's finest restaurants. with booking strongly advised.
