This typical Victorian pub was restored a few years ago. One of the many features I like, is the gas lighting. Members of Parliament can be found drinking and eating in here. If you hear a bell ring and people start leaving in a hurry. Don’t worry it’s not a fire, but the ‘session’ bell. It rings 10 minutes before a vote is due to take place in Parliament. The pub has had one installed so that the Members will not miss a vote. The restaurant Carvery has a good reputation.
