Just across the road from Liverpool Street station is Dirty Dicks. It takes it name from Nathaniel Bentley, who after being left standing at the alter decided to seal up the room in which the wedding breakfast was to be served. The room was later bought by the landlord of the inn that now bears his nick-name.

The pub is worth a visit as you will not find many tourists there, and you can enjoy the undiluted atmosphere of a typical city pub.
