A 16th
century pub. The foundations it is built on date back to the
13th century. The building conveys a strong impression of what pubs
were like hundreds of years ago. The ear shaped communication device
set behind the bar is fascinating. Blocked up tunnels in the cellar,
were said to link to the Tower of London. It is more likely that they
lead to the river and were used by smugglers and river pirates. Well
worth a visit. |
