John Lewis is a department store with a difference, and that is the staff, they are friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about the products that they are selling. The staff are all partners and share in the profits. Although these have taken a tumble recently, as they refuse to be beaten on price.

The children's shoe department is worthy of note, but be warned don’t go near it if the children are just about to go back too school, because you could be in for a two hour wait.

The window displays are quite different from other stores, as they show what is generally on sale within the store, and are good to boot.
