This shop is like an
Aladdin’s Cave, with arts and crafts from all over the world.
The store dates back to 1875, except for the rear wing which is in a
Tudor style and dates back to 1924, made of timbers from HMS Impregnable
and HMS Hindustan.
WHAT CAN YOU BUY HERE?
Japanese ceramics, textiles, and prints.
African tribal jewellery to brightly patterned fabric.
Arts and crafts .
Antique silver and pewter commissioned by artist Archibald Knox.
On the central staircase you can see an amazing collection of oriental
rugs and carpets.
The shop in itself is truly worth a visit.
For non European Union
visitors, the staff at Liberty's will arrange a VAT refund (currently
17.5%) for goods purchased at the store. They do charge a £6.00 handling
charge, (which they failed to inform one of our clients). Not all shops
do.
