GOLDEN HINDE.

HISTORY OF SHIP.

This is a full size replica of , Sir Francis Drake’s original 16th century ship that he navigated the world in between 1577 and 1580. This ship has also followed the same course.

MUSEUM.

The ship is open for the public to view, and shows what it would have been like to work and travel on the ship in Sir Francis Drakes time. It can be hard work getting around the ship in the cramped conditions, but is well worth a visit. There are guided tours at a little extra cost, and also workshops, which need to be arranged. The staffs on the ship are in period costume.

The staff which are dressed in period costume are helpful and answer any questions.
I enjoyed visiting this ship and seeing how things worked in the old days.
