Across the road from
the Imperial War Museum this cathedral sits unnoticed by most
visitors to London. A W Pugin designed the cathedral, which took
seven years to complete, and finally opened in 1848. This was to
service the growing amount of Irish Catholics coming to the
area.
In World War II the building was severely damaged, with not much
remaining of the original building. Romilly Craize later
restored it
