SUBMARINERS. |
|
Built in 1922, in memory of the men who lost there lives serving
on the submarines of the Royal Navy during the Great War
(1914—1918), and later changed to include men from World War II.
The memorial has a submarine in bronze being dragged down by bad
spirits, flanked by Truth and Justice. The wreaths are hung upon
anchors with the name of boats lost in action. |
