Opened by the postmaster General in 1966, the museum has an extensive collection
of 19th century postage stamps. It houses the Phillips Collection, the Post
Office Collection, the Berne Collection and much of the De La Ruc Philatelic
Archives.
Virtually every
stamp issued under the control of the British Post Office, since 1840 is
available for viewing here, along with an extensive reference library.
