HISTORY OF
BUILDING.
The
building was originally designed by Fowke’s with Alfred
Waterhouse putting in many of his own ideas. After Fowke’s died,
work continued under Waterhouse and was built by 1880 with a
Gothic style to it. Waterhouse built the museum with terracotta
to add colour and to make the museum fireproof. This museum has
3 acres of gallery space on two floors leading off of the
magnificent central hall which has twelve decorative arches
leading to different galleries and at the end is a grand stair
case leading you to the upstairs galleries. There are animals
and creatures, along with foliage carved upon the walls. The
building is a star in its own right. |

MUSEUM.
This museum is
home to the famous dinosaurs. As you walk in the grand entrance
you are presented with the skeleton of a T-Rex, which gets the
children's appetite going. Then you can go off to the gallery of
pre-historic animals which children love.
Within the museum there is a lot more then the prehistoric.
Other galleries consist of the creepy crawlies, which gets
everybody saying I’m not scared, but maybe because they are
dead, and behind glass. In the mammal section the highlight must
be to see the model of the blue whale measuring 28 metres.
Within the Earth gallery you can see how the Earth evolved and
different gemstones were created, a number of which are on
display. Experience an earth tremor along with footage of a
volcano erupting and then see the aftermath in the Power within
Exhibition. ‘But there are many more galleries to talk about and
it could take most of the day to visit. |

ON
NATURAL HISTORY MUSEUM
The main
part for me was to see the dinosaurs, and the T-Rex is very big .
I was a
bit frightened in the volcano , but the spiders were great.
