William IV opened the gardens
to the public all year round in the 1840’s.
In 1872 the Albert Memorial
was finished after 9 years work.
The statue of Peter Pan is
from 1912.
The main attraction in the
park today is Kensington palace which was the former residence of Princess
Diane, with which there is soon to be a Memorial dedicated to her.
You will also be able to see
the recent restoration of the Albert Memorial.
Here you can also sit and watch the
roller-bladders play hockey.
