I have just been speaking to Amanda about Thomas’s wish to meet
with the Chelsea football team on Sunday. Amanda said they all had a
fantastic time, and were actually pleased that they had not gone to the
restaurant after the game as they were so tired!
Amanda also mentioned that the taxi driver was great, and very kindly
took them around the sights and even stopped out side the Lamborghini
garage for all the boys to dream.
Please pass on my huge thanks to Gordon as this extra special treat
really did make a huge difference to Thomas’ wish.

Star light star bright first star I see tonight I wish I may I wish
I might have the wish I wish tonight
Once upon a time there was a very brave
girl named Shade. Just as a difficult few months for her was ending, her
fairy godmother [Starlight Children’s Foundation] appeared in the hospital
corridor.
“You can have three wishes,” she said, “and I will
make one of them come true.”
Shade thought for a long time, then closed her eyes and wished...
A few months later, the day before she turned 13, at the hour when daylight
begins to fade and Christmas lights begin to shine, a beautiful princess
descended the staircase of her home.
Just then, a shiny black London taxi pulled up outside. Shade and her family
got in and were taken an interesting route from their home in the East End
to the West End.
Gordon, their witty and erudite chauffeur, told and
showed them quirky and funny things about the city and its history – they
particularly enjoyed getting out of the car to see a remnant of the ancient
Roman city wall in which pigeons were roosting.
Gordon then drove them over the bridges spanning the River Thames and showed
them his favourite long view of the gothic Houses of Parliament and Big Ben.
He then drove them through the narrow West End streets dripping with
coloured lights, telling tales of slums and gold diggers of old, and dropped
them in Covent Garden for a meal in the bustling atmosphere of Jamie
Oliver’s Italian restaurant. |

A few hours later Gordon was waiting outside to take
them to the theatre to see The Lion King, a musical close to their hearts.
They loved the show, especially the costumes and the shadow puppets, but
particularly the giraffes. After the performance they were accompanied
backstage where they met Simba and Nala, who gave Shade many gifts and made
her feel very welcome.
When she had had her fill of backstage magic, Gordon was waiting outside to
drive her and her family home.
Shade was very happy and inspired when she went to sleep that night. Then,
in her dream, her fairy godmother appeared again.
“Because you made such a modest wish,” she said, “I shall grant you your
second wish too – a £100 gift voucher for Firetoys.”
[For those who don’t know, Firetoys is a Shade-is-in-Paradise circus
paraphernalia shop.]

thank you to yourself and Gordon for making the day on the 30th December
2011 special for my niece. Having lost my wife in September with cancer I
wanted make sure that her first visit to the UK was something she would
remember and it was. Happy New Year to you both and hope 2012 is a good

Hi Carol
just want to take
the time to say what wonderful day my husband and I had doing the London
Taxi tour Blenheim Palace + Chartwell House Tour. Our driver Gordon was
wonderful and kept us entertained the whole time of the tour. He was
even able to take us to visit Winston Churchill's grave at St Martin's
church. I was just so impressed with the tour & our excellent driver
that I am going to recommend taking a taxi tour to all of my friends. I
am already looking forward to doing another taxi tour when we are next
in the UK.

Hi Carol,
This is simply the best way to get into the heart of London. The electric
bikes are so easy to handle and make the tour all the more fun and
enjoyable.
Not only will your
memory of the Harry Potter films be tested but you will amazed at just how
the film makers get things done in a city as busy as London. If you're not a
Harry Potter fan (I guarantee you will watch the movies after this tour)
Gordon, the tour guide, will give you loads information about the city of
London and some interesting historical bits and pieces. You will learn
things about London and its history.
Be careful with Gordon, he is serious some of the time and likes a trick or
two, like our friend Harry, at your expense - good fun. Gordon knows heaps
of stuff, so ask away (we had the best lunch in London on his recommendation
for under 10 pounds).
Well worth the time,
effort and pounds!

Thanks again for giving us
another day full of special HP memories! We are so happy we did a second
tour with Gordon this year. It was great seeing Gloucester Cathedral for the
Chamber of Secrets scenes this time. We also enjoyed going back to Oxford
and Lacock which were our favourite places last time.
We had another great meal at The George Inn. Being able to have an
amazing tour guide and photographer wrapped in one is a true treat! One day
we will return to England and definitely take another tour with you again!

see the Cotswalds for years and I was determined to see them by car because
as I had read repeatedly, that was the best way to see the smaller villages.
Carol at London Taxi Tours was great. After giving her a list of the

We managed to see everything on our list at our own leisure which was great.

In the Chamber of Secrets,
Harry, Ron and Hermione run through a Hogwarts corridor as Harry alone
hears the hissing voice of the Basilisk. These fans had fun recreating
the scene in Lacock Cathedral, where many parts of Hogwarts have been
filmed. Then onto Oxford to see where they filmed the Goblet of Fire,
when Harry finds that many of his classmates are wearing buttons
cheering for Cedric Diggory -- and against Harry -- in the Tri-Wizard
Tournament.
In the Half-Blood
Prince, Harry and Dumbledore meet Horace Slughorn at this muggle house in
Lacock, where Horace was trying unsuccessfully to hide from Death Eaters.

Gordon,
Thank you, thank you for the best day of our visit to London! Our Harry
Potter tour with Gordon was perfect and sooo much more than we expected. It
was so relaxing to have someone else looking after all the details.
Gordon's knowledge of the Harry Potter movies, books and filming was
amazingly extensive. He made us feel completely comfortable and also was
easy to talk to about English life and ways. We loved how he revealed each
site by 'quizzing' us about the movies and giving us clues. He was spot-on
in taking multiple pictures of us at each site. He also shared interesting
historical information on all the different sites we visited. The day was
so well-planned and organized, we knew we were in good hands. Lunch at the
George at Lacock was delicious and fun, can't believe we ate in a 14th
century pub! So glad we included Lacock in our tour because so many areas
were used in filming. We even got to take pictures in front of a street
used in filming BBC's Pride and Prejudice. In Oxford, we learned a lot
about the University and colleges. Gordon showed us a traditional dining
hall as well as the one that the Hogwarts hall was based on, as well as many
other filming sites. In London, we visited both Leaky Cauldron sites,
King's Cross and several other sites. Gordon also made great
recommendations for restaurants and attractions. We ate at Giraffe (by our
hotel) based on his recommendation and loved it! Gordon was so much more
than a tour guide for us, because we felt like we got to know a real
Londoner during our time with him, which was just as great as the tour
itself. The pictures turned out wonderfully and we are having fun putting
together a slide show of them whilst watching the movies and finding the
right scenes!
We wish you luck in all future endeavours but hope you will continue to
offer taxi tours too! We would love to come back to London and do a city
tour with Gordon, and will fervently recommend your tours to anyone who will
listen, especially Harry Potter fans! You are the real deal!

We loved our tour.
My family and I took the 13 hour Harry Potter, (Stonehenge –
London – Oxford – Privet Drive – Lacock) tour. It was an
absolutely spectacular experience. We have a large family (my wife
and I and our four kids, Nadia 9yrs, David 6yrs, Ethan 9mths, and
Levi 9mths). We were a little concerned as to how a taxi tour
would work for our family. Carol was very helpful in answering all
our questions up front and ensuring we were getting the tour we
wanted. Our driver, Gordon, was at our hotel right on time. He not
only didn't complain that we were a few minutes late, but he jumped
right in and helped us load our two car seats and stroller. Gordon
is great with kids and knew just how to act to put my children at
ease and ensure we had a great time. Gordon is a very
knowledgeable driver. He was able to answer all our questions about
Harry Potter and also about London, England, and all the various
sites we visited. Gordon very adeptly transitioned between
entertaining my children and keeping my wife and I satisfied as
well. We saw all the Harry Potter sites we hoped to see. (Even a few
we hadn't thought about). Gordon also helped us by taking
pictures so our whole family could be in them. He also posed us in
ways to reflect scenes from the movies. The pictures
turned out great! We have only positive memories of our tour. We
talk about the tour so much that I've given Carol's information to
most of my family and friends so they can experience it for
themselves. We hope to return again in a few years when our twins
will understand Harry Potter and want to find Hogwarts!

My daughter,
Katie, is a Harry Potter fanatic so when we began to plan our itinerary for
London last year it was very important to her to see some of the locations
that she would recognize from the movie franchise. I began searching on line
for Harry Potter tours and Katie and I selected London Taxi Tour (www.londontaxitour.com)
which had a range of tours available to choose from. Despite some
reservations on my part, we chose a 13 hour tour that included movie
locations in Lacock, Oxford and London as well as a stop at Stonehenge. (I
was actually quite pleased about the visit to Stonehenge as I had always
wanted to see it and I'm not sure that I could have talked my family into a
trip out of London for that purpose alone.)
We had to get
up quite early for the most anticipated part of our itinerary (for Katie, at
least). Our driver, Gordon, picked us up at our hotel bright and early
(7:30am) and we headed out of London to see a number of film sites in Lacock
and Oxford. Our first stop was on the outskirts of London to the suburban
house which is No. 4 Privet Drive (where Harry lives with the Dursleys) in
the films. The next Harry Potter stop was the village of Lacock but,
fortunately for me, Stonehenge was on the way so we were able to stop there
as well. We were still quite early so there were only a couple of other
visitors at Stonehenge and we were able to take photos without other
tourists in the background. Our timing was perfect because as we were
leaving Stonehenge the tour buses were starting to pull into the parking
lot.
Lacock is an
absolutely charming, historically preserved English village (in Wiltshire)
where a number of scenes from the Harry Potter movies were filmed. We
started the tour in Lacock Abbey and it quickly became apparent how amazing
our tour guide was. Gordon was able to walk us through the Abbey and explain
each scene that had been shot there and take our photos with the exact same
angle as in the film. Most of the time only Katie knew what he was talking
about but I was amazed at how well he knew the films. And he impressed Katie
with his knowledge, which is not an easy thing to do. The house where baby
Harry Potter lived is in Lacock as is Professor Slughorn's home. Lunch was
at The George Inn, a 14th century pub in Lacock famous for its grand open
fireplace with a dogwheel. In olden days a specially bred dog called a
turnspit would run on the wheel in order to turn the spit over the fire.
Olde English charm, a cozy atmosphere and delicious fish and chips made for
a great break.
Back on the
road then to drive to Oxford University where many of the interior scenes at
Hogwarts were filmed. The most familiar setting to me was the dining hall.
The scenes were not actually filmed here at Oxford but a set was fashioned
on the Oxford dining hall. When we finished in Oxford we drove back to
London to King's Cross station to see Platform 9 3/4 and to a few other
London filming sites before saying good night to Gordon after a wonderful 13
hours of almost non-stop Harry Potter. Katie will still tell you that this
was one of her "best days ever". |

provided us on Saturday 14 November 2009.
As a Kiwi who had not been to London previously, I found Gordon’s guided
tour fascinating. His immaculate timing of getting us to the short changing
of the guards was impressive!! His allowance for a “walking tour” was also
very much appreciated, as John found it difficult getting in and out of the
cab in his powerchair – which is a beast!! This meant we probably saw lanes
and alleys that we wouldn’t have otherwise experienced and gave us a true
“feel” of London-town – and well as experiencing the main attractions.
Please tell Gordon – I had two highlights – (1) the roman and medieval wall;
and (2) the “scaffolding”.

Dear Carol,
My family and I took the Harry Potter tour in the beginning of May. I
actually wrote the review up on Tripadvisor from June 15th. My sister and I
just wanted to write how much we enjoyed our trip and let Gordon know he
really made our trip special. Gordon was really knowledgeable, funny, and
adventurous. We will have memories that will last a lifetime. We have been
having fun over the past week making scrapbooks with all the pictures and
printing out scenes from the movies that match to show our friends and
family. We are hoping we can come back when the movies are all done and do a
grand tour. We really appreciate that Gordon took all the pictures. We are
also glad that he took some action shots, like us running down the hallway,
even though we didn't want to do them at the time because we were
embarrassed. We really enjoyed the Lacock stop and the lunch at George's
Inn. The village is definitely somewhere I will revisit in the future. It
was great to hear Gordon's stories about the history of each stop. It was
fun to be quizzed, although we got a lot of them right, he stumped us on a
couple. Last night, we watched the Sorcerer's Stone and had fun pointing out
where we had been. Our trip to Europe was great, but the Harry Potter tour
was our favorite day. Please extend our thanks to Gordon!

My family and I
used londontaxitour.com for our Harry Potter tour on May 8. My sister and I
are HUGE HP fans. Our guide's name was Gordon. He picked us up at our hotel
at 7 am. First, we headed out of London to a residential area to see where
they filmed Privet Drive in the first movie. We also wanted to visit
Stonehenge on our tour since this would be our only day trip out of London,
so they were able to include it. Next, we travelled to Laycock, which is a
13th century village. We toured the abbey, where they filmed a lot of scenes
from the first movie, like Snape's classroom and Mirror Erised. We had lunch
at George's Inn, which was really yummy. The people were so welcoming there.
He was also able to show us some places where they filmed for the 6th movie
in Laycock. We went to
Oxford and later he
showed us around London. It was really nice to be driven around, knowing you
would be able to see all the sights. We got back to our hotel around 8 pm.
We were able to accomplish so much in one day and would have never been able
to do this on our own. I cannot brag enough about Gordon, he was so
knowledgeable about all things Harry Potter not to mention the history of
all the places we visited. He quizzed us on our HP trivia and told us many
entertaining stories. He also takes all the pictures of you in the different
angles, like the movies. I felt like my sister and I were at a photo shoot.
All in all, it was our favourite day out of our trip to Europe. I highly
recommend any of their HP tours because you will be shown a good time and
learn a lot about the films from a fantastic guide. Be sure to ask for
Gordon, if you do decide to go!

Potter trip; I would like to hire the chauffer Mr. Jimmy Smith myself in our
IT company over hear in Sweden, he is the person that can get every person
to become instantly interested in nearly anything, he was professional,

Company behavior and attitude is key to success, for big cooperation’s as
for small companies, you show success!
We also loved your Mercedes Vito car, is it possible to get the contact that
you have in Germany, where we can import one for us self in Sweden. Because
we have done some investigations in Sweden at Mercedes and they do not have
the contacts, we have for some month’s triad to find this kind of Vito or
Viano in Sweden. Else we are looking at VW Caddy Maxi and VW Multivan. We do
thou prefer the Mercedes. The different thing is that we have the drier seat
on the opposite of UK and we do not need the Plexiglas between the driver
and the passengers.

Dear Carol,
I have finally had the photographs processed from the 3 hour tour of London
my son Josh and I did with Gordon back in February which prompts me to email
to thank you both very much for a very enjoyable tour. The photos are great
and Josh's favourite is, of course, the one where he is driving the black
cab. Josh was so quiet during the tour that I was a bit concerned and asked
him afterwards whether he enjoyed it. He said it was definitely the
highlight of our weekend in London. I think he was just quietly listening
to all the fascinating facts Gordon told us and he loved the little taster
of the Imperial War Museum. Gordon kindly dropped us off at Stamford Bridge
so that Josh, although a Liverpool fan, could have a tour of the stadium.
He had his photo taken with the FA cup which he loved but I guess the photo
may be covered up for a while now since they have just knocked Liverpool out
of the Champions' League! Anyway a very big thank you to both of you. We
are recommending you to all our friends!

Just wanted to drop a
line to let you know of our impression of London and the tour experience we
had now that we've been home in Hawaii for a week.
First, it took us awhile on the day of the tour before we realized we were
placed in the hands of the "boss's" husband, as he put it. Gordon did you
proud and gave us a first class tour of your great city. He gave us more
then we could have hoped for in the short time we had before being delivered
back to St. Pancras Station. The sites certainly spiked our desire to
return for a more leisurely experience.
The tour was exactly what we wanted; a combination of history, modern
trivia, movie locations and points of interest. No doubt Gordon is your
best tour conductor and salesman. We have already recommended London Taxi
Tour to several acquaintances pondering trips to England, and have told them
to ask for "Gordon". You can bet we will when we
return.

I just wanted to send a quick note saying what a wonderful time we had on

me (a HUGE harry potter fan) but, also for my my boyfriend who booked the
tour for our 31st birthday. It was wonderfully fun and informative.
You didn't even noticed how long the day was. And, seeing Slughorn's house
before the movie even came out was a thrill for me! We've got great
pictures we will treasure for ever!
As a side note to Gordon, I found Mom and Mum in the first book. Also
sweater instead of jumper...But, not having the UK version of the book I
couldn't cross reference to see if it was the same or not. Thanks again

Harry and most of the sights that we went to. He was early for the pick up
and made sure we got to all the sights even though we were over time.
We were very impressed with the cab, it was air conditioned( which funnily
enough we did need that day), sparkling clean and a great novelty for the
family. The gifts provided at the end of the day were very much
appreciated.
The only other feedback I would like to give you is to make it clearer on
the web site and on the booking information that entrance fees to the
various locations is not included, this did add up during the day for a
family of five.
Thanks Carol, we have already recommended the tour to some of our friends
that are travelling next year and it was definitely one of the highlights of

We made it back to Alabama without any problems. Adrienne had to go with
Virginia to help her move to Washington, D.C. (actually she will be living
in Bethesda, Maryland and working at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in

Words don't seem adequate to express what a wonderful trip it was. As I told
Gordon, the trip far exceeded my expectations regarding what we were able to
see within a week plus all the additional sites Gordon was able to fit in
along the way. I can't imagine trying to do it any other way. Thanks again

Now that we have settled in from our vacation I wanted to take the time to

your services. Frankly we did not know what to expect, and when our plane
arrived early and we made great time through customs and immigration, we
found ourselves waiting for what seemed an eternity for David to arrive on
time. David found my wife while I was looking for him, and everything after
that just seemed to work out great. The accessibility of the taxi for my
wife was just what she needed and David was always there to lend a helping
hand. The tour of London that he gave us covered all the areas we wanted to
see and a few more. David was extremely informative and went out of his way
to avoid traffic and tour groups if he could while making sure we saw the
important places and events in London. I would and already have recommend
this tour to anyone who only has a short time in London and wants to see the

! The Harry Potter tour was amazing! We all agree that the day with Gordon
was, without a doubt, one of the best days that we spent in Europe.
Gordon, you made the day very special for our girls and we can't thank you
enough. It's not just that you were informative, but it was so enjoyable
seeing so many things in and out of London. The Harry Potter portions were
excellent and the children were so excited about every stop, but the
Imperial War Museum was amazing. We actually went back the next day and
spent a good portion of time. We also truly enjoyed seeing Oxford and the
drive was beautiful as well. From the time you picked us up, until you
dropped us back to the hotel, there couldn't have been a more perfect family
experience. Thanks again!
London is our favourite city. We hope to get back again soon!

the tour that my Russian friend, Aliona, and I had so very interesting

Hi Carol - We have just returned from our
holiday that began on 1 July in London. I am writing to let you know how

I just wanted to write
and tell you we had a great tour. We booked a Harry Potter
tour on Monday, March 29th. Our driver was Gordon. He was so
informative and patient.
Our main purpose was to see the locations that the Harry
Potter movies were filmed. I videoed the places that Gordon
told us and showed us. We came home and compared the shots
with the movies. There was no question that they were the same
locations. My children were so excited to know that they had
been there. They even picked out some of the sights on their
own.
In addition to the Harry Potter information, Gordon told us
about many other interesting sights and London information. We
toured much of London during our visit. The tour by far was
the most informative. It was worth every penny.
Thank you again. When I return to London I will definitely
tour again.

On the plane home Margo and I decided that the trip would not have
