I Have Never Not Lived in London.



I was born here. I drive here every day. I hold the City of London Guide qualification, one of the most rigorous guide certifications in the world.

That combination is rarer than you might think.

Most tour guides know London from books and training courses. I know it from 30 years behind the wheel of a black cab. I know which roads flood when the Thames is high. I know which pub has been on the same corner since the Great Fire. I know why the City of London is a separate entity from the rest of London, with its own police force, its own elections, and its own rules. I know because I work inside it every single day.

The Knowledge, the exam every London taxi driver must pass, requires you to memorise 25,000 streets and 20,000 landmarks within a six mile radius of Charing Cross. It takes most people three to four years to pass. I did it. Then I went further and qualified as a City of London Guide.

I drive an electric TXe black cab. The same shape you have seen in every film set in London. Panoramic windows. Enough room for six people to sit comfortably and actually see the city you came to experience.

I built London Taxi Tour because I kept watching visitors leave London having seen the surface of it. The big clock. The bridge. The palace. Ticked off a list, photographed, forgotten.

London is not a list. It is a system. Two thousand years of decisions, disasters, money, power, and reinvention, all still visible if you know where to look.
